„Wir müssen uns ausführlich um das Selbstbewusstsein der Menschen kümmern“
Die luxemburgische Revue – De Magazin fir Lëtzebuerg hat mit mir über die Macht und Machenschaften der multinationalen Konzerne, aber auch über Selbstermächtigung mithilfe der narrenfrei-Workshops geredet:
„Ich verstehe darunter die Freiheit von Konventionen, Rollenbildern und fremden Erwartungshaltungen. Ich kann nicht perfekt sein in der Art und Weise, wie es das Wirtschaftssystem, die Werbung und autoritäre Strukturen von mir verlangen. Ich scheitere daran. Wir scheitern alle daran. Wir lachen über gute Clowns nicht, weil sie so lustig sind, sondern weil sie etwas zeigen, was wir verbergen: unsere eigene Lächerlichkeit.“ So könne man auch gefährlich für die Mächtigen werden: wenn man dieScham und die Angst verloren hat, nicht dazu zu gehören.
Wien ist auch 2010 die Stadt mit der weltweit höchsten Lebensqualität. Zu diesem Schluss kommt die jährlich durchgeführte Mercer-Studie, für die 221 internationale Metropolen miteinander verglichen wurden. Befragt wurden bei der Studie allerdings nur: im Ausland tätige Geschäftsleute.
Das ist schön für sie und schön für multinationale Unternehmen, denen die Mercer-Studie bei der Standortbeurteilung helfen will: „Mercer conducts the ranking to help governments and multi-national companies compensate employees fairly when placing them on international assignments (…) As the world economy becomes more globalised, cities beyond the traditional financial centres are emerging as attractive places in which to expand or establish a business.“
Die politische Vertretung des multinationalen Big Business übernimmt die Wiener SPÖ und ihr Klubobmann Siegi Lindenmayr, der sich für die Ergebnisse des Multi-Rankings generös bei sich selbst bedankt:
Dass die Wiener Stadtbevölkerung und MigrantInnen, die nicht für multinationale Konzerne arbeiten, nicht befragt wurden, interessiert die Elitenpartei SPÖ ebensowenig wie die Tatsache, dass Wien im Öko-Cityranking der Multis nur auf Platz 44 liegt.
Natürlich, für internationale ManagerInnen ist Wien eine der sichersten, saubersten und bestverwalteten Städte der Welt. Es kann ihnen relativ wurscht sein, dass die Treibhausgasemissionen in den letzten Jahren hier um 13,5 Prozent gestiegen (statt wie versprochen um 14% gesunken) sind, dass mehr als 200.000 Menschen in einer der reichsten Städte der Welt armutsgefährdet sind, hier 100.000 Kinder in Armut leben und dass Kinder von MigrantInnen, die nicht für Multis arbeiten, kaum Bildungs- und Aufstiegschancen haben. Und vielleicht ist es einigen von ihnen sogar ganz angenehm, wenn die SPÖ das Stadtbild von BettlerInnen und „Verwahrlosten“ säubert.
Es wird dringend Zeit, dass sich die Wiener Stadtpolitik auch um jene kümmert, die nicht in Mercer-Studien befragt werden.
